Service

Today was the first day of my Service Cleft lip and Palate. The service is based on making a profit to help children with the unfortunate circumstance to have cleft lip and Palate as shown in the pictures below. The service helps by making events and or sales that produce large amounts of money, which later is then used to pay for the children’s plastic surgery’s. I have two leaders that facilitate all the proceedings in my service. Rasmus Linder and Bharat Khosla, they are both seniors and in all intents and purposes good leaders. On this first day of the service we were brainstorming ideas we could implement  to make a profit and help the children. We consider doing a bake sale, a sort of donation competition, a sponsorship, a sports tournament, etc. However when it came down to it we thought the most profitable of the ideas was a concert, a rock concert to be exact, consisting of both amateur and professional and sponsored by radio stations and other large companies. This idea is a great risk because it things do not go as planned or if the even isn’t advertised in such a way as to attract large amounts of people then we run the risk of not being able to make any money to help the children that are sponsored by Cleft lip and Palate. However if everything goes according to plan or as close as we can get then we stand to make a very large profit and in turn help a great many children. One can only hope.

Goals for CAS

For this semsester I plan on joining a Service activity, I dont know which one but im leaning toward the service Cleft lip and Palte service. Also I plan to try out for the SAISA football team and hopefully travel on the team to represent my school in fantastic athletic competiotion. Also to further develop my primary SAISA, basketball and also further work on the Action ascpet of my CAS, I will try and participate in the saturday community basketball that is conducted every satruaday. Furthermore for the Creative Aspect of my CAS I will also be participating in this semisters drama production "Fiddler On The Roof". Its a lot to juggle but I hope that actually doing so much in my community can help me better myself through the experiences that I will share with my classmates and friends, and in the process learn new things and become a more wholesome learner and a more balanced person.
